THE WINNER GRINNER DINNER
’Twas a night that I’ll remember
In the middle of November
When Andrew kindly asked us out to dinner
He said he’d cook the fish
His “Super-Special” dish
For luckily he’d caught a monstrous grinner.
Before the fish was dead
He’d gone and dyed it red
And scattered little blue spots all about
Although you’ll think I’m thick
I sure fell for his trick
And I must confess it looked just like a trout.
But the last trout Andrew landed
Was when Noah’s Ark was stranded
Somewhere up the top of Ararat
[Phantom’s caught a lot
On his secret Sunshine spot
A location that he keeps under his hat.]
Andrew,poor young cove
Blew up Donna’s stove
But barby’s good for grinner or for bass
Though the truth to you I’ll tell
They never work too well
When Andrew doesn’t fill them up with gas!
But happily to say
Donna saved the day
With creations she’d concocted – what a job!
And I really must confess
His trout was a success
Every bit was gobbled by the mob.
So it was a lovely dish
That orange speckled fish
And all the guests there claimed it was a winner
But Phantom has a doubt
[Which he’s loathe to speak about]
Was it really trout ,or was it a big grinner?
